Spring Is Here

Well, at least it's here on my blog!

This weather has been awful, and as a result, I've been
delaying these spring beauties. 

But with April right around the corner, I needed to do
some wishful baking. 

So here is my tribute to Spring...May it finally come and stay!

My First Sheet Cake

This Chocolate Cake was my first sheet cake request.  It is for a friend's daughter who is turning 16 and loves the color pink and butterflies.  The butterflies were such a challenge.  They were so delicate, I think I broke more than I ended up with. :-) 

I did however, have enough to decorate the cake with - including all four sides. 

I think that the birthday girl will be pleased.

I was having some fun with left over icing so I decided to decorate some butterflies.
